Pagan Easter Craft:

Dawn Goddess Votive Plaque

In this workshop you will be led in crafting an embossed metal votive plaque addressed to a dawn goddess, with diverse iconographic and aesthetic precedents to inspire your own unique creation.

Join us March 30, 2024 @ 10 AM - 12 pm Pacific time

Recording available until end of April

The English name for Easter comes from the Old English dawn goddess Ēostre, for whom Anglo-Saxons held feasts in the month of April, Ēosturmōnaþ (Easter-month).

Ēostre’s name shares a root with several other well-attested Indo-European dawn goddesses, including Greek Eos, Roman Aurora, and Lithuanian Aušrinė.

Her association with the month of April was possibly due to the springtime’s similarity to the dawn as a period of increasing light and warmth.

Welcome the dawn of the solar year with reverence !
